Possidi is a small touristic village situated on a cavo in the West coast of Kassandra Peninsula. It derives its name from Poseidon, ancient greek God of the Sea. His temple from the 4th B.C. century was situated in the beginning of the cavo, near the contemporary light house.
Today Possidi offers relaxing holidays by the sea with a number of sea side cafeterias, restaurants, hotels and beach bars. In the local restaurants you can try fresh fish and favorite Greek flavours. Many products are homegrown and the locals give much attention to fresh ingredients from the area. Possidi is also beautiful by night with a promenade ideal for long walks under the moonlight.
Possidi village is in walking distance from Villa Bianca studios, but you could also use bicycles or motorbikes to go around and reach Possidi “Aristoteles” University camping, the magnificent phenomenon of Cavo Possidi or the beautiful beach Aigiopelagitika ( 2 km from the studios).
A real heaven on earth, with incomparable natural beauty, clean seas, perfect beaches (most of which are awarded every year with a “Blue Flag” by the EC), beautiful forests, prehistoric, ancient and Byzantine monuments, traditional villages and modern tourist resorts – this is Kassandra, the first “prong” of the Halkidiki peninsula and the closest to the city of Thessaloniki.
The whole of Kassandra offers the visitor, unequalled environmental diversity, where the scenery changes continuously between beautiful beaches, hills and pinewoods, overwhelmed by the sweet smell of resin and thyme, incomparable beauties! The variety of its settlements is also admirable. Small churches, old monastery properties, traditional settlements combine harmonically with modern holiday houses and touristic resorts. Kassandra is full of life, especially in the summer with vivid beach bars and night life as well as romantic sites for a sunset café or lively playgrounds for the families.

Possidi has three beaches to choose from.
Aigiopelagitika is a long sandy beach, with clear turquoise waters. It has been voted online as one of Greece’s best beaches. You can cherish the sun under your own umbrella or use one of the two well organized beach bars offering sun shields and deck chairs as well as drinks and little snacks. Don’t miss the sunset there!Possidi itself has a long sandy beach in front of the village and a less known phenomenal beach that is formed by the Cavo; a sandy peninsula that reaches out for hundreds of meters into the sea and offers plenty of space for sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear waters.
The good thing is that you never miss a swim, as the two beaches (Possidi and Aigiopelagitika) have different orientations and at least one of them is always calm. Villa Bianca Studios are 700 meters from Possidi beach, 1,5 km from Cavo and 2 km from Aigiopelagitika beach. Of course you can reach a variety of other beautiful Chalkidiki beaches (Paliouri, Pefkohori) by car with a 10-20 minutes drive from the studios.
You can fly to Thessaloniki International Airport “Makedonia” in Northern Greece and from there hire a car to come to Chalkidiki. There are plenty rent-a–car agencies in the airport and you could find them through the internet, too and make a favorable booking.
You drive all the way to Thessaloniki city and from the ring road take the direction towards “Chalkidiki”. Straight ahead you continue following the signs to “Nea Moudania” and then “Kassandra” peninsula (the first “leg” of Chalkidiki). You pass through Potidea bridge, Nea Fokea and when you arrive to “Kalithea” touristic town, turn right in the traffic light following the sign towards “Fourka” and “Posseidi” villages. From Kalithea it is a 12′ km drive to Fourka. 2km after passing Fourka you see a sign for “Posseidi” and “Kallandra” on you right. Turn right there and again in 200m you turn right towards “Poseidi” and follow the road until you see a supermarket “Arista” on your right hand side. You have arrived. Turn left and enter a little private road opposite from the supermarket (you will see a Villa Bianca sign there too). Our studios are just 500 meters before the Posseidi village entrance. See Google map below:
There’s a public bus (ktel) line that comes to Posseidi. Take the bus from the Ktel Chalkidiki inside Thessaloniki and take a ticket to Posseidi village. The bus makes a stop outside the “Arista” supermarket (in front of our entrance) if you ask him to.
Enjoy a variety of local activities. In lively Cocus Beach bar of Possidi you will find all kinds of water sports such as: water ski, kayak, water bicycle, rubber rings and more. In Pefkohori you will also find a diving center. Take some beautiful walking routes towards the akrotirion with the Lighthouse of Kassandra (built in 1864) or go uphill opposite from the studios to come across a beautiful panoramic view of the village. Nearby is also the temple of Poseidon- unfortunately not visitable. Other sites of interest are the windmill in Kassandra and the archeological site of Mendi in Kalandra. In the Kassandra peninsula you can also visit the sanctuary of Ammon Dias and the remains of the Paleo-Christian Basilica, the castle ruins and the channel in the Nea Potidea, the Apostle Paul Tower in Nea Fokea, the Stavronikitas Tower in Sani and the ancient city in Polygyros. Every July and August you can also attend the Kassandra Festival in Siviri’s Amphitheatron, with Greek ancient tragedies and comedies as well as live concerts. Sani Resort offers the Sani Hill Festival with jazz and many foreign artists.
